A Day of Celebration!

Mountain View faith-based dorm was birthed in January of 2012. It is the third of four Discipleship Unlimited dorms. Last month, 22 women graduated from this intense discipleship program. And we celebrated with diplomas, food, music and testimonies by the graduates.

Several ladies came to the Lord while in the program. For most, it was learning to walk out their faith. Living in such tight quarters they are forced into community and accountability. Each evening they take turns leading devotions and praying. In our Saturday seminars issues like abuse, rejection and betrayal are addressed. Walls come down and healing begins to flow. Closeness is established through our relationship in Christ.

At graduation, each woman is given time to speak. They have all learned to share their story and present the gospel. Now they have been sent out on their mission field in the other dorms of the prison. A mentoring program has been set up so one of our volunteers will encourage them on a monthly basis. We want to extend this to all dorm graduates. We have many at Murray and Hobby.

Our Texas family celebrated Mother’s Day with the women in white. Terry and Jake went to Death Row and sang with the women. After doing a service on the row, Terry lead worship at the Chapel. Linda spoke and the choir sang. A new sound system was given to the women through the faithful gifts of our ministry partners. Again you are providing the resources for these magnificent opportunities. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Abiding in the shadow!
