Discipleship Unlimited is a multi-faceted prison ministry based in Gatesville and Marlin, Texas
Since 1974, thousands of people inside and outside prison walls have felt our impact as we build up the body of believers through prayer, study, accountability, and Biblical truth. DU programs are designed to lead men and women to a lifelong commitment to Jesus Christ.
We have wanted a faith-based dorm at Hilltop Trusty Camp for several years, and this month it was officially dedicated!
Terry and I know first hand what it means to be “set free” from addictions. We are believers in Christ who have been set free from alcohol, nicotine, and drugs.
As believers in Jesus, we are blessed to be one body composed of many parts, which feels the joys and sorrows of each part. This has been the experience of the Murray Faith Based Dorm this summer.
When I got to prison, I was feeling pretty lost and hopeless. I was in the dog pound (a holding place) at Woodman State Jail when my bunkie gave me a copy of the book Karla Faye Tucker Set Free.
Nine years ago, in the fall of 2005, Terry and Jean joined Dallas and me in ministry in Texas. In 2008, Dallas went to be with the Lord. Looking back we can see how God was preparing us for His purposes
There were 26 official graduates at Murray and 20 graduates at Mountain View this month. Each graduate spoke with great insight and poise about their time in the dorm and how God has taught them to focus on Him.
After finishing my third message at a retreat center in Estes Park, I left while the women were praying in their small groups, for I was completely exhausted. All I wanted to do was to sleep.
Every DU program is designed to lead men and women to salvation through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to transform hearts from the inside out.
We operate multiple faith-based dorms that allow women to grow in their faith and live in accountable relationships.
Ministry and outreach
DU also offers weekly programs and yearly outreaches that enrich inmates, including ministry to women on death row and in protective custody.
