Faith-Based Dorm Update

Faith-Based Dorm Update

Pam Perillo is one of several new participants in our discipleship program. I wrote about Pam in Karla Faye Tucker Set Free. I have known her since 1987 when she was on Death Row. She was Karla’s precious friend. When Karla and Frances were executed, Pam was broken and became angry with God. She also suffered from survivor’s guilt, as her death sentence was reversed. However, God’s stubborn love continued to hound her; she applied for the faith dorm.

Thursday night, we shared Karla’s story in the dorm and showed the DVD of her speaking to inmates on the importance of forgiveness. Karla owned her crime, and the Lord forgave her as she repented. Then she forgave her mom and others. Karla was a Jesus-lover and a joy-bringer!

The gospel of love: to be forgiven and forgive. Women were greatly impacted, and we had a powerful night of ministry. Pam is sharing with others and trusting that God can heal her heart.

God’s fingerprints are everywhere, and His power is displayed in changed hearts and lives. It is an awesome privilege to serve where Jesus serves. He goes to the least, the lost, and the lonely. Thank you for your generous giving, which enables us to move forward. He is taking ground … lives are being transformed.

May He be glorified.

Wow!! How wonderful it is to see these ladies grow and prosper in the LORD. I give my God and Jesus Christ all praise for the Faith Based Dorm in Gatesville. I was one of the first 56 when it began!!! The going was rough, but at the end of the day God knew who needed to be there and who didn’t. Not a day has gone by when I don’t think of Linda Strom and her Team, or of those ladies in the dorm. There were enough “naysayers” to go around, but the will of God will not be stopped by mere men. Much of what I learned while there has served to assist me now that I’m home. I truly believe that if I had not gotten that training BEFORE I left TDCJ, I would already be back!!! Praise God for those who love Him enough to heed the His call to “…visit those of us in prison.” May God bless you always.

Linda has told me about the Faith Based dorm since before it got started! How she wanted it! God obviously wanted it! And what happens there will go on and on.
I am 87 years old. I’ve know Linda forever!
I am looking out my window at 2 rabbits lying flat out under the grapefruit tree. They have freedom since God made them that way. WE ALL have FREEDOM in Jesus Christ whether we can run or not! Blessings to all who work and all who listen!!!!

I just finished reading Karla Faye Tucker Set Free, WOW!!!! Linda you are a pilgrim of His work and Words! Please keep it up. I would love to read more books from you on other women. My husband is currently incarcerated, for a crime he committed over two years ago on a relapse. We are both in the A.A. program. We are also lovers of Jesus Christ and what He has done for us. He has transformed us in ways that we could not do ourselves. Karla’s love and faith has encouraged me to keep on going down the dirt path. And to stray from the golden one. Threw the word of Christ we can come threw this sentence refined and polished in our faith. Again thank you. And please extend to the women in prison there they are in my prayers as well. :)
